Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami fenomena information overload (kelebihan informasi)dan dampaknya terhadap kesehatan mental generasi Z di Indonesia, serta menelaahnyadari perspektif pendidikan ilmu sosial. Dalam konteks era digital yang ditandai denganarusinformasi tanpa batas, generasi muda menghadapi tantangan dalam mengelola emosi, fokusbelajar, dan keseimbangan hidup. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif denganmetode fenomenologi untuk menggali pengalaman subjektif mahasiswa dan pelajar terhadappaparan informasi digital yang berlebihan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalamdanobservasi terhadap sepuluh partisipan dari berbagai latar belakang pendidikan. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa information overload menyebabkan stres, kelelahan kognitif, danpenurunan motivasi belajar. Namun, sebagian generasi Z juga menunjukkan strategi adaptifseperti detoks digital, manajemen waktu, dan pencarian dukungan sosial. Dari sisi pendidikanilmu sosial, fenomena ini menegaskan perlunya pembelajaran yang menumbuhkan kesadarankritis, literasi digital, serta keseimbangan antara kebutuhan informasi dan kesehatan mental.
